“plastic palm trees” is the album closer for McRae’s sophomore album. Throughout the track, McRae sings about a relationship, which is a metaphor for L.A. and fame, she used to believe it was perfect, now she realizes it wasn’t as good as she thought. It has become clear to McRae that she was “in a dream” and that it wasn’t “what it seems.“ The track was teased on slide two of an Instagram post on April 23rd.
